Bryce Canyon National Park

Bryce Canyon National Park is unique. Its' pink and orange beauty is the result of 60 million years of erosion. Its rocky spikes rise in the amphitheater that forms the canyon.

The erosional force of frost-wedging and the dissolving power of rainwater have shaped the colorful limestone rock of the Claron Formation into bizarre shapes including slot canyons, windows, fins, and spires called "hoodoos." Featured Hotels in Utah

When you enter the park, stop at the Visitor Center. Rangers will hand you a map of the site and all the information concerning the activities, the fauna and the flora.

Start your visit at sunrise at Bryce Point. Walk around to Fairyland Point on the upper path that borders the amphitheater. Afterwards borrow the paths that descend to the bottom of the canyon.

Reach Rainbow Point by car or walk the trails designed by the Rangers.

Golfing, Biking, Fishing, Horseback Riding

These activities are usually organized by the local hotels.

All year long. Flowering is at its peak in spring and the beginning of summer. The 170 species of birds nest from May to October.

From November to March, the snow emphasizes the beauty of the rocks. Roads might be closed a few hours after heavy snowfalls.

If you visit the park between April and October, reserve your room in advance at the national parks inn. The Bryce Canyon Lodge :

If you cannot get a room at Bryce Canyon Lodge, make a reservation at the Best Western Ruby's Inn located at the entrance of the park.

Two campgrounds at Bryce Canyon National Park

Ruby's Inn Campground and RV Park. You can also rent a small cottage or a teepee.

The restaurant at the Ruby's Inn is pretty good.
